WHO WE ARE

Koarooginal was founded by Kai, an Indigenous founder whose cultural background and lived experience shape the heart of the brand. From the beginning, Koarooginal has been guided by a commitment to cultural respect, creative integrity, and responsible storytelling.

The brand is supported by a wider team, including Ethan (non-Indigenous), who contributes to the operational and development side of the business. This structure allows Koarooginal to grow sustainably while remaining grounded in its cultural values.

All artists working with Koarooginal are Indigenous. Their voices, skills, and perspectives are central to everything we create. We value creative labour and are committed to recognising artists’ contributions and ensuring they are fairly and appropriately compensated, in line with Koarooginal’s internal standards.

WHAT WE CREATE

Koarooginal creates original designs developed through a dedicated internal creative process. Our artists are trained and supported within the brand, with a strong focus on cultural understanding, ethical practice, and originality.

We approach creation with care and responsibility. Every piece is developed thoughtfully, without copying or misusing existing works, and with deep respect for cultural meaning and artistic labour.

THREE COLLECTIONS, THREE STORIES

Dot Painting Collection: This collection explores connection to land, movement, and continuity. Through layered dots and rhythmic compositions, each design reflects depth, balance, and enduring narratives.

Rarrk Collection: Characterised by fine line work and structured patterns, the Rarrk Collection expresses strength, discipline, and connection. Precision and control define the visual language of this collection.

Urban Collection: The Urban Collection brings cultural expression into a contemporary setting. Bold forms and modern aesthetics reflect how culture continues to evolve and live within today’s world.

OUR MISSION

Koarooginal exists to create with respect, clarity, and accountability. We are committed to supporting Indigenous artists through fair, transparent compensation and clear recognition of their contributions.

Our mission is to build a brand that honours culture, values creative labour, and grows responsibly — balancing tradition, contemporary expression, and long-term sustainability.
